The Dustin Project had the perfect environment at The City of Casselberry’s Art & Music in the Park event held on Friday, March 13. The weather was balmy, and there was plenty of music and food for all to enjoy a relaxing Friday evening.
There were few leprechauns seen at the Sanford Historic District’s “Alive After 5 - St. Pat’s Day” celebration held on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Although no leprechauns were seen, the “luck of the Irish” was found in the faces of those visiting our Dustin Project Resource table.
Dustin Project had an outreach table with “creative artwork activities” available for visitors on February 13, 2015 at their monthly, “City of Casselberry Art & Music in the Park” community event. Although there were blustery winds on this chilly evening, we had plenty of heart-warming moments engaging with visitors to our table.
On January 7, 2015, Dustin Project Death Educator and Community Outreach Coordinator, Margie Grebin, participated at the City of Lake Mary’s “Wineart Wednesdays” event. There were several creative activities available to those stopping by the Dustin Project resource table.
Dustin Project had a resource table at the LMHS Football games and homecoming held October 24 and 31, 2014. There were many attending the event, who stopped by our table to chat with Margie Grebin, MS, LMFT, CT, Dustin Project’s Death Educator and Community Outreach Coordinator. It was a warm and at times, playful group of visitors (see pictures below).
On October 9, 2014, Dustin Project participated in Sanford Historic District’s “Alive After 5 Oktoberfest.” Freshly-baked apple strudel was served to those visiting our table, and many returned for a second helping, noting how delicious the strudel tasted. The first picture is our dedication to “Dustin,” in memory of Dustin Garber, who is the foundation on which Dustin Project exists today. Other pictures highlight visitors dressed up for the “Oktoberfest” celebration.
On July 10, 2014, Dustin Project participated in Sanford Historic District’s “Alive After 5 – Blues & Barbeque” event. We served attendees fresh cornbread, Dustin Project brochures, and shared information about our services. All seemed to have fun (in spite of heavy rains that came), enjoying good music, food and posing for the camera.
On May 17th, Dustin Project Founders Judy Garber and Lynn Jennings (in first picture shown below), participated in the 7th Annual Lake Mary Community Walk and Run at Lake Mary High School.
Proceeds from this event will enhance high school athletic programs conducted by the Lake Mary High School Booster Club and Athletic Department. The founders donated funding to sponsor a Dustin Project table at the event, providing outreach information on our counseling program to benefit bereaved middle and high school students who have experienced the death of a loved one. Pictures below are some of those stopping by to visit our table to learn about our program.
